A case of sacroilliitis forced me to ease into my own plan. Walking initially and positive outcome from painkillers means I now incorporate a 100 pace jog per km. Easy does it. I do enjoy it so much and have to force myself to alternate days to not overexpose my underlying niggle. Each time I plan to try and beat the previous time but if injury dictates I'll drop back as appropriate.

Well done daveglass - very wise to be making sure you include those rest days I think! Setting goals is great of course but important to balance this with listening to your body. Good luck with you fitness and I hope your sacroiiliitis settles soon. π
Thanks Sandra, and, having listened to this creaking body, today's 5pm walk will just be the walk. No jogging today, there does seem to have been a slight reaction so I'll try again Friday if it feels right. There has to be the ideal trade off when carrying a bit of trouble as you infer. I'm competitive with myself you see but unfortunately took my eye off the ball for 6 months and now am carrying too much weight. This of course will not help my "itis". So slowly but surely I'm tightening up both my diet and exercise, in the knowledge that sometimes, you need to walk before you can run. (bit corny that).
