Imposter syndrome..... πŸ™ƒ

β€’21 Replies

I think I'm becoming mildly obsessive about this forum.....

🌲You know the saying, "If a tree falls in the forest with no-one to hear it, does it make a sound?".........

For some reason, I have it in my head that if I don't post on here after each run then the run doesn't count ..... πŸ™„. Strange, I know. Does anyone else feel this way, or is it just me?

I am feeling like a bit of an imposter at the moment. I am in the post graduation/consolidation phase, but back to running intervals rather than consolidating as I ease back in to my running after injury. It feels a little like going backwards.......

There's nothing much to report about this morning's run, other than to say it's done - warm up and cool down walks of 5 minutes each, two 10 minute runs with a 3 minute walk in between. My lower legs are feeling a bit tender and having a grumble at me again, so I am going to treat my legs to a little R & R with an ice-pack.

Well, that's it. Run posted, so it counts. I'm off to put the kettle on and put my feet up in the garden.

Happy running everyone. Keep safe πŸŒˆπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸŒ³

Well done Delly-dot. I absolutely understand...πŸ€— I may well be doing the same thing in a couple of weeks time as I return from injury😏

Happy running and posting! 🌷xxx

I have learned to embrace my inner snail, but I do hanker after those longer runs...... All in good time.

I do hope your return to running goes well. I shall watch out for your posts. Good luck 😊

Thank you...I have begun impact exercises, and will begin with slow and steady as my mantra🌷xxx

in reply to Bluebirdrunner

That sounds a good plan. I am trying to listen to the kind voice in my head that reminds me that slow and steady is the way to go instead of allowing the impatient voice to get a word in! 😊😊

I always felt like that when I was running. Also, it creates a sort of diary of your progress. Now I’m not running I’m not posting at all, possibly for the same reason, but in reverse! Still keeping my beady eye on you all though, lol! πŸ‘ 😁

in reply to Wenderwoo

Lovely to hear from you Wenderwoo. I'm so glad that you are keeping an eye on us all! πŸ˜‰

Oh Delly-dot!! My sentiments exactly. πŸ₯΄Ive been consolidating for a few weeks now but felt like I wasn't making any progress. Thankfully roseabi came to my rescue with suggestions. I'm trying to run without the app etc but it's hard. I think I had unrealistic expectations. Keep going, keep posting you are doing great because you are out there running😜

in reply to Allbarron

Thank you so much for your kind words Allbarron. I'm also running app free and I like it - no noise, no earphones, no music. It's quite liberating. I didn't think I'd prefer to be tech-free while running, but I do. 😊

Hello Delly-dot, I used to post after every single run, maybe not as many now but I love reading everyone else's post about their run. So keep running and keep posting😊😊

in reply to Buddy34

Thanks Buddy. I’m enjoying reading what you are up to. You’ve had some wonderful runs lately and posted lovely photos of your routes. Keep it up! 😊😊

I wrote much the same thing yesterday, doing a run and posting on here are one and the same thing in my head. Today I've come on as I was feeling fed up and I wanted to get my positive mood back by reading everyone's great achievements ..... And it's worked x

in reply to dijep

Posting runs is a great motivator and reading what everyone else is up to does help too. 😊

Well done πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘. I too did that run today! Loved that people were waving at me today, even the dustman! The upside to lockdown πŸ˜„

in reply to Superstarnewbie

I seem to have met more cheerful people on my runs since lockdown. Everyone I meet is so ready to say hello. It’s lovely 😊
