Hello just completed day 1 of C25K today. Not run for nearly 30 years so hoping I can keep this up. However, apart from my erratic breathing I got though it, so looking forward to running again in a few days time as need to lose weight!
I’m New!: Hello just completed day 1 of C25K... - Couch to 5K
I’m New!
That breathing of week one is fun isn’t it? Well done for starting, we thought that first run was going to kill us I sounded like a steam train and Willow was bent double gasping for breath but we read the guide and we slowed down and we can run on and on now
Good luck and enjoy your running adventure
Congratulations for completing your first run! That's the biggest hurdle out of the way getting started I think.
Well done! I just started again after 2 years. Just completed w1r2 tomorrow. Completely understand about the breathing, I think people were concerned on my journey. Hehe
Well done, I have just done my 2nd run of week 1. Not gonna lie it was hard but be proud each time u go out as it all makes a difference. Good one u
I also really struggled with my breathing to begin with. My voice over trainer (Michael) offers amazing tips on breathing... what to do when you get a stitch etc. Every piece of advice I’ve followed has worked. I’m not used to breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth when running. But I got used to it and this really helps me power through x
Congratulations! I am on week 7 now and struggled with the breathing at first. Like others say just slow your pace. Listening to music really helped me as well but I know it doesn’t work for everyone
Good Luck!! I was hoping it would help get rid of some excess weight that had crept on too. I combined C25K with an effort to eat a bit better and more fruit and whilst it took about 3 weeks to lose a single pound I’ve now lost 1st 7lbs since the first week in Feb. Definitely credit to simply running 5k (Sometimes more) every two days!
Welcome to the forum and well done on
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Enjoy your journey.
Hi, I started last August after 30 years of not running. I followed the plan exactly as it is and it worked and I graduated. Even after a few missed runs recently I’m still able to run 3-5 k non stop. Something I thought was beyond me at my age of 63. Believe in the plan. It’s about the only thing you can fully put your trust in nowadays.
I was in a similar position to you 8 weeks ago. You can totally do this x
Thanks for everyone’s encouragement in all the messages above. Good luck to you all and catch up with you soon. Another run scheduled for tomorrow so hopefully it will seem a little easier! 😊
Fantastic. Well done you. 👏
There is a saying: you can't outrun a poor diet, so you will need to eat a healthy diet too. Also, you may need to throw your scales out and use a tape measure. You will notice toned muscles before you notice weight loss.
Good luck 👍
