Morning everyone

I’ve completed week one, ran sat, mon, wed. Want to run today and start week 2?

The app suggests only 3 runs per week . I’m feeling great and want to run ?

What did you guys do ?

When you run, the impact creates microtears in your muscles, which repair and strengthen on your rest days, not while running. Without rest, repair and strengthening are compromised and injury risk increased.

If you want to be the best runner that you can be, then do non impact cross training on your rest days, which will be far more beneficial than running every day. It is not recommended for new runners to run on consecutive days until they have a minimum of six months regular running on their legs.

Why risk injury that could stop you completely for days, weeks or even months.

Please take your rest days, as advised in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

So cool to run today, as rested yesterday. When I say rested was out on the bike ?

Being out on the bike improves recovery by increasing the blood flow as well as working the muscles, without the impact of running.

Well done I’ve just done week 1, found the 3rd day harder than the first. Wondering how I will do next week. Impressed your ready for more. Hope today goes well :-)

As long as you have at least one rest day between runs its okay😊😊

Had to think what day it was for a minute there... even though I work from home already, this lockdown is messing with my head 🤣

A week can be 6 days here as long as there’s a rest day between each run, or extra rest days can be added to make a week longer than the usual 7.

So, yeah... you rested yesterday, today can be run day.
