I am really enjoying it, w5r3 done. When can you switch up to daily runs?

Can you switch up to daily?
If you are a new runner then the answer is no, especially if you are 50, as your forum name suggests.
When you run, the impact creates microtears in your muscles, which repair and strengthen on your rest days, not while running. Without rest, repair and strengthening are compromised and injury risk increased.
If you want to be the best runner that you can be, then do non impact cross training on your rest days, which will be far more beneficial than running every day. It is not recommended for new runners to run on consecutive days until they have a minimum of six months regular running on their legs.

NO, no running on consecutive days but congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to (not on consecutive days) runs 1 and 2 of week 6 which have interval walks and runs, run 3 of week 6 is back to fully running.
Hi Jacqui, there are some great strengthening exercises for runners over on the strength and flex forum, and things like the plankathon challenge. Also I've noticed lots of yoga and Pilates sessions are being posted online, these are all things you could try on your non running days, they will get you stronger and less likely to pick up an injury as the running increases.
For a new runner, it takes 1-2 years of regular running for the body to become completely adapted to it.
Too much too soon sees most people get injured - through any form of new exercise.
Take joy and be thankful for your new found love of running, and enjoy your REST days (some strength work or other exercise will be fine)
Ok, will do. Can focus on my other stuff on the other day
