Calfs

Do you do the warm up exercises? There is a link in the How to post. Also do the cool down stretches (link also in the post) as they help to and can also help to prevent injury 👍😁

Try some calf raises on your non-running days.

If you are not doing them, won't hurt to do squats on your non-running days too.

Try the NHS Strength and Flex podcasts on your rest days. They include a really simple and useful calf stretch which you can then use anywhere.

All good advice. Swimming or yoga on rest days might help too.
Yes! On the day i promised myself I'd crack 5k.... i was just thinking for home and my calf decided to inflict pain. Hobbled back with my tail between my legs and treated for a month. I had been on well 8. I've just started back in the new year. I've done W5r1 for times now. Just starting yp get back into it
Hope yours are ok

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow.
