Hi runners

Wonder if anyone can help me I am 62 and started c25k at the beginning of this year. Actually amazed myself as I have never run in my life. I now run 5/6k 2 or 3 times a week finding it so good for my mental health.

My issue is severe back pain. I do try to stretch before and after but not as diligently as I should. My doctor has suggested it could be the running especially pavement running. I really don't want to give up but am this week trying to run just once

Anyone else diagnosed with osteoporosis? I have an infusion once a year and take high dose calcium

Hi suegrace, I’ve no idea on running with osteoporosis. Maybe try woodland or nature reserve for your runs softer ground than pavement. Smaller strides might help too ( I’ve been on one about small strides = less injuries this week - read it somewhere can’t you tell🤣🤣)
