W9R1 completed - 2 more runs left! What’s next? I feel nervous to be coming to the ends of the runs without my trainers.

I have my final run tomorrow or Tuesday. I think I'm going to do the same route a couple more times, then start varying it. I'm lucky where I live that I can run on the flat - which I have been - or incorporate a hill or two. I think that's the way to get fitter. I'm not convinced about the local running club. I don't work and don't fancy running round in the dark when I can do it in the morning. I am eyeing up my local park run though.

Good luck with your week

Congratulations on reaching week 9, 2 runs away from graduating, that's amazing.

It is recommended you do a couple of weeks of consolidation runs, 3x 30 minutes per week just to get some more miles/km on your legs before you push on.

During your consolidation runs have a think about where you want your running journey to take you, longer, faster or just plodding along for 30 minutes.

Ju Ju's magic plan is very good, it has 2 facets to it, you can either do the time based one, gets you running for an hour or you can do the distance one which will get you up to 10k; I've done the time based one and am working on the distance one as it a logical progression to increase running time (at a slow pace) before I tried going for longer distance.

The main thing is to enjoy all the runs, whatever you decide needs to be the right choice for you.

After Graduation, consolidation is the name of the game.. getting more runs in to continue the building up of the new running legs and our stamina and strength...short runs, 30 minute runs... and the lovely long, see where you get to runs.

They are the ones that build everything up ready for whatever you choose to do next!

Congratulations on nearly graduating. Ju jus magic plan is great after consolidation. You can do it either timed to 60mins or distance to 10k. Get those consolidation runs in 1st though

Parkrun! Plainly and simply the easiest way to maintain your running. But not only the running! The social atmosphere at Parkrun is great, talk to anyone and everyone and no matter what your time, you are included! Look at the 10K course, maybe you want to run further? (We don't, 5K is enough for us two old farts) You are a runner, choose your path and run...
