Not been on here a while, had a slight hamstring injury..,but then ran on it which made it worse.
I have been not running for 3 weeks now with a race entry in two weeks :(. Granted ..I didn’t ice or anything ..until a few days ago I got desperate so did what I was told ..and had a sports massage (which hurt lol) they said my quads were so tight and my hamstrings really short ( apparently that’s not good ) which is why it isn’t healing. I am icing a lot ..did a 1.4k run ..then walked and then a 1k today ...still sore. Really missing the running, I feel like every day goes by and that tiny bit of fitness I got from graduation is dissolving away. I even had a cigarette boooo.
Any other advice to try and get my quads / hamstring better ? X

Sorry to hear this. There are many strengthening exercises out there, but some may not be suitable for your injury, so personally I’d advise seeing a physio, either a sports one or NHS, to assess it properly before starting any of these.
Have a look at physio / strengthening exercises, many resources available on the NHS website and how about home massages yourself if the professional ones are hurting. Get some tiger balm and lotion and rub, rub, rub... I do this after every run now after my shower, it really helps.
