Don’t just give it a go. Embrace it and just like me it will change your life. I’m fitter, faster, lighter and healthier now at 45 than I was at 25. 2 years after doing C25K I run 4 x times per week including a 10K and Parkrun. Believe me if I can do it anyone can. Welcome.

I don't use facebook or any other social media platform except linkedin, but this is a nice forum and everyone is very friendly. Don't feel obliged to post, but reading the others gives good hints and tips for problems you might have and if you feel like it, post your own.

If you're not used to social media, you need to decide how much personal information you are happy giving away. Some people post their run routes, some give more general information and some have their real names. You have to decide what is the right amount of information for you.

If you want to read up on it, this gives a good idea

I am a bit overly cautious, but a bit of caution is probably not a bad thing

in reply to backintime

Thank you for your comment and information yes I’m a bit cautious to nothing wrong with that in this modern day, enjoy your journey 👍

Hi Running1965, sounds like you are making great progress, Week 7 already so you have left the walking intervals behind! This is a lovely forum, keep posting, I love to hear how everyone is doing, it really inspires me to keep on running. 🏃 ☺

Welcome Running1965. This is just a group of learners who share experiences. Wise man learns from other people’s mistakes. Well done to you for getting this far on your own. I hope you don’t run up and down Pen y Fan. It was all I could do to run Week7 on the flat. Enjoy your running.

in reply to Hatman

Thanks for your reply, and your comments all noted lol yes I run down Pen Y Fan I can only dream of running up tho lol good luck with your journey 👍

I’m doing W6r1 this evening, and I’m really excited to be progressing as per the program. Thankfully, I haven’t had any injuries to date, though I did have to take a week off due to a nasty virus. 🙄

in reply to MuddledGardener

Not good running if you’re not feeling good better to take a break, what’s your aim ??? Mine is to redo the Cardiff Half but quicker lol 😂

Well, I’m overweight, and used to wheeze just putting on my socks, let alone walking upstairs! That had to change, and changing it is! 😊

in reply to MuddledGardener

Me to, I started a few years ago when I failed to walk Pen Y Fan I knew something had to change or I might not be around to change it 👍
