Did w6r2 last night !! Managed it but really struggled with it ! The next one is the 25 minute run - I just cannot imagine being able to do it! It seems such a big leap to run for 25mins solid! 😂

Seems like it I know but I just broke it up into 5 minute chunks and found that easier than thinking of it as one big slab of 25 minutes. And, of course, you’ve been prepared for this as you’ve gone along! So you can do it!

Well done on your progress.

Don't struggle, slow down.

Have you read this about mental approach healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You can do this.

Ok, just relax yourself a little and think about what you have done so far, in week 1 you ran/jogged for a minute, in week 2 you ran/jogged for 1.5 minute, that's a 50% increase.

In week 3 you doubled the time you ran/jogged for to 3 minutes, in week 4 that was like a 66% increase, in week 5 you did the barrier breaker, the longest you had ran/jogged for was 8 minutes and you more than doubled that, nearly tripled it in fact.

I found that once I broke the barrier of W5R3 then it was plain sailing, I'm not putting the program down, far from it, without it I wouldn't have got to where I did before I had to stop.

Just go slow and steady, don't push it and don't keep looking at the clock, just relax, breathe and enjoy the run.

Good luck.

Week six first two runs are hard. They mess with your mind after the euphoria of W5R3. You will be ready for the next run, you just had an off day. However, you still completed it, and that the mental strength you need for the longer runs. There is a lot more thinking time, so try not to focus on the time, after a few minutes you will get into a good rhythm.

Thanks - yes thought I’d find 1 and 2 of week 6 easy but I haven’t !! Will keep on though !

Hang on in there. I've just done my second 25 min run and whilst I don't find them easy, I managed to plod on to the end. I've switched to listening to podcasts to stop myself counting down the songs on my playlist! Keep going, you can do this - that's what I keep reminding myself. Good luck with your next run.

You can do it. It’s only an extra 5 minutes on 5:3, and a 5 minute run isn’t hard for you now. Remind yourself of 1:1 and see how you’ve progressed - you’re doing really well. So take it slow and steady. If it hurts, slow down, and if it still hurts, slow down more. We’ll all be right here cheering you on x

Thank you - I’m definitely going to make a big effort - will be slowing down if I need to - I’m on a treadmill so I know how fast I’m running !

I have just completed that too. I was so thrilled with my 20 min run, but that felt like a real struggle!
