I’ve just got in from a 35-minute 6km run. I’ve been wearing compression supports on my ankles lately but didn’t today because it was raining and they get really heavy when they’re wet. A bruise about the size of a 2-finger Kitkat (in terms of the area covered, not the depth of the swelling!) has formed on my left shin, on the bottom third. I don’t recall having knocked into anything in the past 48 hours. It’s slightly raised and tender to the touch. I’m going to slap on a cool pack. Any ideas of what this might be would be very much appreciated. I just want to do the right thing.

We are not medical experts so, if there is no explanation for the swelling.., either call NHS helpline for advice and go and get it checked out
