Hello. I had 2 strokes back in 2016 and limited in my movement. I had a lot of time to recover bfirst in a wheelchair, then crutches. I finally got back to lots of walking (5 miles ish).
But then I tried C25K. Four times I tried it but I got extremely bad pain in front of my shins and ankles.
The doctor said it was shin splints and I needed 6 months off running.
Which I duly did. But then went back to running (well jog, walking, stumbling lol) and I’m getting the same pain again.
A deep tissue massage guy says my problem is muscular. But I can’t afford to keep going back to him.
Is there anything you can suggest please? I’ve been told about trigger point injections as a possibility. Thank you for reading this.

Firstly, I admire your determination and grit! If it is shin splints I think the key would be to learn to run slowly -
m.youtube.com/watch?v=9L2b2... This technique is low impact and I run this way all the time. Although you’ve been trying slowly, you could be running in such a way as to cause you pain. Watch this a few times and see if this running style works for you. Hope it helps. I’m sure others will have excellent advise too. Good luck!
You could probably benefit from leg strengthening exercises before you start trying to run. In most cases shin splints and knee pain are the consequence of the impact of running highlighting relatively weak muscles.
