After starting to get into it and completing W4R3 I had to rest as I had massive pain just below the knees on the inside front. The internet says it is probably tendon issues but I was wondering what people think is a good rest period and what should I do for my first run back

I’d suggest either having your gait analysis done, or preferably as you’re in pain, go and see a sports physio. It could be how you are landing, or your gait. In the meantime have a few days rest until the pain is gone (you won’t lose any fitness for 2 weeks), and when you can go back out try this - m.youtube.com/watch?v=9L2b2... It’s a low impact style of running that’s designed to prevent injury. So a short stride, mid foot landing, quite a light step, and slow enough to not get out of breath. I run this way all the time, perhaps it’s the right thing for you too?
