Please can you help? I graduated last week short by around 400m on the 5k. I’ve decided to run 5k and not focus on the time that way I’ll be able to improve. I ran for around 37 mins sure I’d got the 5k in but was actually around 100m short on my app. Can anyone recommend a simple to use route planner so I can be sure I’ve got that 5k in?
Thank you
☺️

I tend to run laps and use a tracker to tell me when 5k is done. I workout the laps on an app called footpath, and I try to create a loop that is over half the distance to reduce the boredom that can set in on short laps. Then I set my tracker for a 5k run and run until it tells me I’m done, or use the 5k guided run that my tracker offers if I’m in the mood to be coached.
You could try Mapometer: you can search for runs that other users have uploaded in a specific area and either follow them or use for ideas. You can also record your own runs (it works alongside Fitbit in my experience) and then save them. I find it useful to create a bit of a library of runs at different distances and from different start points (for example I explored a new area while my son was at rugby training so I recorded it for future reference). I like exploring new places: I also use google maps to check a route in advance. I still got rather lost yesterday!!
I’ve just posted a screenshot separately. I like the app overall: it can be a bit clunky from time to time, depending on 4G. I hope you find something that works for you 👍
Thank you so much for this, run over 5k for the first time this morning..total running time 44mins, it’s so crazy to think 9 weeks ago 4 mins felt like a massive struggle 🙀 thanks again x
