I’ve Run 5K

So on my first consolidation run, still using Jo Whiley as my pacemaker, I ran 3.27 miles! Had to carry on after Jo said I was done as knew I was short so ran for a few minutes until I was confident I had got my 5K and ran that distance in just over 34 mins! Glad to have got that monkey of my back though.

And I have just enrolled for the Race for Life event on May 12th, running the 5K. I suppose that means I will have to do a Park Run soon as that is where the Race for Life event is run too, so will have to get at least one Park Run in before the big day!

A parkrun is a great way of getting used to running with others. But run your own race at your own pace. It’s easy to get carried away by the whippets and pick up an injury.

I ran parkrun as my first post grad run with Jo Wiley, last May and do my 30th this week- it is addictive.
