Run to the hills...

Back again. I’ve completed the c25k last year. But got my lazy bum out of it!

2 runs in again. I’ve managed to achieve 6k each time. But my breathing is all to cock.

Love the support here. You guys are amazing!

This is a new profile - didn’t think I would bother running again 😕

Mental health drained and drinking too many beers again. Exercise seems to wonders for my mental health and also my general well being.

Love you guys!

Welcome to the forum.

If you are running 6k then you are not working your way back through C25k, which is actually a very good way to safely build your stamina back up, while keeping injury risk minimal.

You might find this guide to post C25k running beneficial healthunlocked.com/couchto5... as it explains that running hard and fast (ie at a pace at which you cannot breathe fully and deeply) is the mark of an inexperienced runner, so slow down for 75-80% of your running to build stamina.

Enjoy your journey.

Thank you for the advice. I was just a little worried that starting from

The beginning would be a little too slow again

Read the guide and see what you think.

Just because you ran a few months ago does not mean that you can pick up where you left off, otherwise your injury risk is sky high. Build yourself up. Slow and steady is the watchword on this forum and that applies to all runners, of all experiences. Your body needs to be conditioned to the demands you are going to make of it......otherwise it breaks.

This is the guide to the C25k plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... that is sent to those starting from scratch and the easy conversational pace described is the one you should be using for most of your running.

Keep us posted.

... run for your lives.

If you’re running 6k you don’t need the programme 😂. If you’re looking to build running legs and aerobic capacity, slow down and follow the plan... you’re never to good to run some intervals!

🤷🏻‍♂️ I don’t know. I guess it C25k!! I guess it’s more about the struggle. I’d love to find a running buddy.

You now have about 70k virtual running buddies. Maybe your local parkrun could offer you one that will be visible as you run... and it’s a good place to meet people from here too... I don’t know where you are, but there’s a few heading to a parkrun in south Manchester on the 23rd

Sounds like a great plan!
