Just don't hesitate, if you want to begin C25K set yourself a day and time and get out there and begin with a warm up walk then run the first run of week 1.

Had to work! Which is rubbish. So it’s tonight. Might run round my house haha!

Go for it! Take it slow and steady. Even if it’s hard, you’ll still be outrunning those still sat on the couch.

I did my 2nd run of Wk9 this morning and will graduate on Friday - on my 53rd birthday. When I started I hadn’t run since faking an asthma attack at school aged 15! I have been amazed at how this helps you to progress. After my first run back on 9th November I was as red as a beetroot sweating ketchup! So, if I can do it - you can. After my first run of week 8 I finally felt like a runner. Properly enjoying it. But after every run I’ve had an enormous sense of achievement.

You need the running shoes (and a good support bra) and that’s it - apart from the will to stick to it. If you do manage to do every other day it is remarkably fast to get through the program.

I encouraged my sister (56 years old!) and she’s been doing it at the same time - we text each other updates and tips. But I’m sure you’ll find support here.

I feel sooo much better, fitter and toned.

Best to just start - you’ll amaze yourself.

Good luck!

That’s amazing thank you so so much for your story! Love it! And well done you and your sister. I’m a rubbish runner but really want to feel the freedom of it and am bored of the gym, want fresh sure! But do need decent trainers I guess. Love the sports bra advice lol xx

You’ll be fine with regular trainers for the first run or two but you should get some proper running shoes to prevent injury. And my other bit of advice is start slowly! And if you get puffed out, just slow right down rather than stop. Xx

Welcome to the forum.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You can always stay at home and gradually succumb to all those life limiting conditions that are associated with inactivity ..............or you can head out of the door and find out what really living is all about.

Enjoy your journey.
