I’m so UNPC but!!!!

So I know I’ve discussed boobs ravens crows and even ghosts 👻 but I feel there is something that needs to be discussed

First the fluids that want to leak when you run 🏃‍♀️

Number 1. Wee

Now I am female (note the boobs and the picture) but I feel a little leaks out when I leap in the air at the half way bell 🔔

Number 2.

Ironically that’s my second thing!! I always have to poop pre run or the whole run I dream of toilet 🚽 and sitting 😝

Number 3.

👃 nose

Why does it insist on running when I am!! I look like some deranged hyperventilating snotty psychopath

So there is my top 3!! Am I alone

Today Mouse and I did W9 R2 sadly can’t run now till Monday due to working shifts 😡🤬🤯

How are you all?

I suffer from no 3 - forgot my tissues on my last 10k race and had to resort to wiping my nose with my hand and then wiping said hand on leggings! 🙈

Pantyliners are your friend. As are Kiegel exercises (or whatever they’re called).

A male friend reduced us to tears of laughter at the weekend by admitting to squatting in the middle of a field on his 10k training run last week. I know exercising dogs helps them poop, so maybe the same applies to humans.

Noses, I carry an old fashioned hankie tucked into my bra or use a Buff.

I also get streaming eyes when it’s windy... and that can really sting.

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply to Maddee_6333

Ooh eyes not even thought about them leaking 🤔 maybe next post ☺️

Ha I have to carry tissues when I run! It’s a real thing! I never normally carry tissues but after the run where I had a snail trail of snot up my cheek (I’m so sexy) tissues have become as necessary as head phones. Also after every run the first thing I do is poop! Normally hits me around 15 mins in and it feels like I’m racing my digestive tract to the finish line 😂😂😂

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply to jiggles7

Oh Jiggles you are funny!!

Love snail snot! Takes me back to being a kid 🤧

Maybe58 profile image

Sometimes I wipe my nose on my sleeve rather than ferret up sleeves for tissue. It’s something I’d never ever do not running but when I get my running gear on respectable grandmother behaviour is forgotten 😉 However if I catch my grandchildren doing it then watch out 😳 Your post has made me laugh!

I like to think we are all adults (obviously lm not as good at it as some 🤷🏽‍♀️) so it’s a forum why not 😉

Cold air might be a factor in #1s and runny noses

#2s makes sense. I mean, why carry the extra weight? Right?

Don't you just love stress incontinence? 😸

TailChaser profile image
TailChaserGraduate

Can totally relate to all 3 Ibot! Katnap regularly hears me complaining about no.1. No rhyme or reason to it either. For no.2, if it doesn’t want to come before you go you can’t make it. Sods law once you leave the house 😂😂 For no.3, wear a buff/snoody thing around your neck then you don’t need to faff around for tissues. As long as your nose doesn’t run too much otherwise you’ll have a icky, soggy, cold piece of snotty fabric around your neck 🤢

😂😂 what a discussion 😂😂

Good luck with your graduation Ibot 👍

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply to TailChaser

Ewww cold and crusty!! No wonder us runners are avoided!!

Too many fluids!! Too many places for them to leak from 😳😳🤷🏽‍♀️

We are on to a losing battle

Great post! My nose runs a bit if it’s cold... a few times I’ve lifted my T-shirt up without even thinking to wipe it... flashing the fluorescent sports bra for all to see 🤣🙈 ... Why have I never thought of tissues 🤷‍♀️

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply to

Or perhaps bring a lamb with you? Great for the cold and can help later with all fluids 😂😂

My bladder is pretty good at the moment... I have stopped wearing liners when I run for hygiene purposes...

Since starting running I’ve become more regular... if I’m a little clogged up the running definitely gets things moving 😅😅😅 damn white bread, it’s my guilty pleasure

The nose is usually okay but aaah relief when it’s a little blocked and the running clears it. I haven’t had a major running nose but I have used my sleeve

Also number four... joggers/runners nipple. I say no more

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply to jessm_01

On one of my previous posts we did discuss boobs 🤷🏽‍♀️ No holds barred that’s me 😂😂

No sure how I can top this for graduation 👩‍🎓🏃‍♀️ 🤔

Well Ibot it's lovely to see you and mouse!

I did stop for a quick wee in a bush on one run but I was bursting 😳

I do hope there will only be one fluid leaking from you on your next run...

....tears of joy! Go get that graduation badge Ibot ...GO GO GO!

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply to

Is it an actual badge or a rhetorical badge?

Well we all have bladders

Your the first person to comment on picture 🙄 it is a rarity 🤷🏽‍♀️ Tend to break cameras 📷

in reply to Ibot

No, like the shiny graduate badge next to my name...

It does look like you have mouse in some sort of wrestling headlock... but I am sure it is in a loving way. If it was your cat however, I'd be calling the RSPCA like everyone else is right now...

No, I'm practically perfect.😊

Oh ok! I will admit to an occasional swipe of my nose with my sleeve, I thought that's why running tops had thumb holes in, so the sleeve was always accessible.

Hi! Well done running with your boobs, number 1 and 2 problems lol. It’s unfortunately classed as ‘normal’ for women to have these issues but there are things you can do to help. It tends to be a little issue with your pelvic floor which can be either a little lazy/ weak or for some people too hard working! Either way basic low level Pilates exercises working on using your pelvic floor, breathing and moving all at the same time (imagine rubbing your belly, patting your head and singing ymca all at the same time!). You can also focus on posture especially when it only begins to happen half way through your runs. Your pelvic floor and diaphragm work well together if one isn’t helping the other then problems can occur. If you stand relaxed tall, ribs relaxed down and pelvis in neutral they can work well together. If you let your ribs move out forwards or pelvis forward - think standing like a duck or j lo- then your pelvic floor and diaphragm are not parallel and cannot work together. Some people when they get tired running fall into this posture and then the number 1 problems start. A quick fix if this is the case is to try relax your ribs down and use your core to bring your pelvis into neutral.

All sounds very complicated but it’s an easy fix if this is the issue.

Good luck and if you need more info let me know x

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply to Jenb101

Oh, that's a popular topic and post!!!

My nose is running way faster than me! The first thing I'm checking before going out are several tissues. I can run without pants or shirt, but not without tissue!

I have female nr 4 to add to your list, and it's not wee, but liners seem to save my panties :)

Runners don't know taboo when it comes to body fluids, body parts, injuries, and issues that are inevitably connected with this amazing body movement :)

Ibot profile image

Well you know me ☺️ Happy to discuss EVERYTHING!!

How are you doing my snotty friend?

IgaT profile image
IgaTGraduate in reply to Ibot

My nose decided to eun even if I am sitting comfortably with company of sore throat.

But today I am going to run away from whatever bug is trying to catch me. I will do cautious 2-4x 10 min intervals taking to my knee gently and asking if it's ok to continue.

Berksrover profile image

Fortunately I don't suffer from No 1, but with you on No. 2, I have to go before I go, which helps with No 1 too. No. 3 also a shared leak, but my major issue is sweat, I only have to look at my running gear and I start, even in the colder weather.

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply to Berksrover

Oh bless you!! I suppose if you forget fluids you could always lick 👅 yourself 🤭☺️

DianeU profile image

Yep number 1 for me. Glad I’m not alone in this. Liners and a longer running top that covers my behind to hide any telltale signs of leakage. Number 2 too on occasion! Yet when I get home and go and have a sit down 🚽 nothing... materialises! How annoying is that! 😏

Ibot profile image
