Breathing cold air

Was doing well to week 5 run 1, then got laryngitis, and felt rough. (Expensive. Week off work, self-employed.) Just wondering how to handle the cold weather coming up. Not sure whether breathing in cold air aggravates laryngitis and proneness to chest infections. Or might it even cure it if I keep going? Anyone else been through this?

Don’t know about laryngitis but with infections cold is better than warm! We only get more colds in the winter because of heating our homes. One thing you can do though is use a buff.

Another vote for a buff. There is a brand name Buff but there are loads of buffs out there (stretchy tube of fabric). They can be worn loads of different ways but for asthmatics or weak chesters over the nose and mouth, at least to begin the run with, is good as the cold air gets warmed before hitting the lungs and the neck is also kept warm.

Hope you are feeling better.
