What is this bump?

Hi,

So,I've been on this 0-5k for what seems like months. I started with good intentions around April, but my work load increased considerably and really did not have the time or energy to commit.

Moving on,I'm now on Wk 5 Run 3, the first 25 minute run. I had decided to repeat it because I'd gone into walk mode for 40-60 seconds to catch my breath and felt that I should complete each run properly before continuing with the next.

I'm loving the running, but I've had to miss today's run because of a slight swelling at the back of my leg, specially near the inner tendon of my left leg. It's soft and puffy to touch and it doesn't hurt, but there is a small discomfort if I straighten my leg and tense the muscles in my leg.

I have rested, raised and applied a cool pad too and the swelling is easing up,but am curious as to what it might be. Any ideas, anyone? Thanks

Yes EalingCrawler you are certainly correct that you have eased up, that should help that swelling to go down, BTW its week 6 run 3 which is the first of 3/25 minute runs, W5R3 is a 20 minute 🏃 run.

Hi AImorr,

Thanks for the reply and the correction. After checking my App,it was indeed at the end of W5. Wishful thinking on my part,I guess.

As for the mysterious bump,I've taken to applying ibuprofen cream every 4 hours just to reduce any inflammation and free up the tightness... Hopefully this will help and then I can get on with it.
