I can run for 50 minutes on a treadmill but struggle to run outside. Does anyone else have the same problem?

Yes...I started running on treadmill because I have a bad back and felt it would be a better option for me. I almost finished the programme ..which amazed me.. back has stopped me getting to the end for the moment.. I am much fitter..definitely..but a jog in my local park demonstrated to me that treadmill is definitely easier..so I am planning now to do the programme out doors ..probably going back to beginning ..or at least earlier weeks. ..back permitting ( may have to resort to surgery) .

Many find it so... I am much faster on my trainer, which I use in icy conditions or after injury!

Outside running is awesome.. every run is different:)

Yes! I find I can run longer and faster on a treadmill. Perhaps increase the incline a bit and/or vary it during your run, that can make the treadmill more challenging and may make the transition to outdoors easier.

Running is mental and physical and I think both aspects are different outdoors than in.

I'm the opposite...I find running on the treadmill so much harder than outside. I think it is a mental thing for me. I enjoy taking in my surroundings and the distractions offered by running outside. I think a lot depends on what your body/mind gets used to. It's good to change things up a bit though and challenge yourself.
