Good to have a plan!

I have never run on a treadmill but I'm told that running outside is harder - there are hills (just the slight rise on my regular run makes a big difference) and headwinds. On the other hand there are downhill bits and if the wind is behind you as well you can fly! :) Something to remember when you do it - be ready to perhaps find it difficult. But then if you've got through C25K you know about overcoming difficulties :)

I did my first parkrun last weekend after completing week 7 on c25k. This was because colleagues told me I should, it was a glorious day and the location, in north wales is near my home and is beautiful! I finished as the marshals were collecting up the marker cones☺but realised it didn't really matter...someone has to bring up the rear! There were lots of running club folk...even a bus from Warrington running club! What I hadn't factored in was the terrain....I'd only run on a level river path until then, but the parkrun had slopes (felt like I was running up Snowdon at times!)...and tree roots to trip over!

I did the course and was pleased that I only did 2 very short walks throughout. Completed it in 42 mins which as a newbie I am pleased with. Hope you enjoy your first parkrun ...I'm sure it will feel really different to the treadmill.
