Plan has obviously worked as I managed to do the 2x8min sessions without too much trouble....a question for anyone that's finished week 5 & 6....should I take a 2day rest between now and W5R3 or 1 day now & take the 2day rest between W5 & W6?
TIA & have a great day running in the sun all!

Hi uncle_wiggy. My next run on Friday will be W6R2. I’ve run every other day since W5R1 (it’s a run l repeated after 2 weeks on the IC after attempting to run where l left off) To be honest, l actually preferred running W5r3 ( did l actually write that 🤣) . If your not injured it doesn’t really matter as long as you have a days rest. Good luck & enjoy 👍🏻
I have just had a 5-day gap between W5R3 and W6R1 - it wasn't meant to be 5 but I knew it would have to be 3 at least, having never previously had more than the standard 1-2 day break between runs, because I was camping in very challenging terrain (and, as it turned out, terrible weather) over the weekend so was not able to run Friday-Sunday. I was keen to make sure I didn't have unnecessary 2nd rest days last week which would have pushed W5R3 to this week, because I couldn't imagine leaving a 3 or more day gap before W5R3. But W6R1 was fine today.
However, if it was just the choice between 1 and 2 rest days, it honestly wouldn't have bothered me which way round I left the gap.
I’d take one day now and two between W5 and W6. It surprised me how much easier it was to do the 20 minutes in W5R3 than I expected. W6 is proving a step on again as you would expect hence the reason I’d take the two days in between.
When you run next is up to you... are you suggesting an extra rest day because you’ve seen what’s next and are a bit worried? If that’s the case, get out there after one rest day, don’t give yourself any extra worry time!
Uncle, you’re doing brilliantly. You have no need to worry about what’s coming up. You’ll feel elated after each and every run from now on, and they all have the ability to be toughies. Or equally you might have no trouble at all - you never can tell!
So it’s up to you if you feel you need two rest days, run every other day, or whenever suits your schedule best.
Get out and have a blast! You’re smashing these runs! 👍🏃💪
I’m no expert-just completed wk6r1-but I have a 2 day rest every week, depending on what i’ve got on, and I don’t think it makes any difference. I think I come back stronger after 2 days off and am eagerly looking forward to my next run. You know your body so go with what it’s telling you. Tbh wk6r1 was a bit of a surprise after wk5r3 so not a problem having 1 day off between was 5&6 imho.
