Enjoying a holiday in the Maldives but still following the @couchto5k routine!

Any thoughts on the use of the treadmill versus road or park run?

Wow that looks nice. Where do you normally run treadmill or street?. Treadmill is easier than outside. There's no wind resistance which is an issue even if you don't notice it, the treadmill is moving, softer surface. Set treadmill to at least gradient 1 to try to make up for this.

Yes normally I run in my local park, but the temperatures around here are at 30 degrees or more so I have been to the gym! Air conditioning makes the running slightly more bearable! Thank you for the advice about the gradient.

Think I’d be off down that beach and into the water at the end... but it’s probably hotter there than my front room 😂

Do the runs however you can... and enjoy that holiday.

My first run was on a treadmill. Mainly as I hadn’t run since when I was at school. 🤔 So I was a bit self conscious....

But from run 2, I’ve run on the mean streets...😜 Gotta say, I prefer it much more. You can go at your own pace and not have to play with the speed of the treadmill. It’s also done heaps for my confidence.

I may, however, change my tune when it gets to autumn/winter and it looks very wet and miserable outside. 🤪🤪🤪
