Completed my first week, the running isn’t the problem, it’s when I walk in between, my shins are hurting so much and struggling to walk due to the pain, any advice

Maybe get your gait analysed? I had the same problem when I started - it turns out my shoes weren’t right for me. Once I got the correct shoes, no more pain. Well done on starting the programme 😊

Please check this out... there is a great deal of useful, tried and tested advice.

The correct shoes and socks are essential. Taking it slowly and steadily and trying to land lightly. I call it kissing the ground with your feet... sounds daft, but it works...and go gently and slowly.

Warming up really well and the after run stretches will all help.

We do expect aches and pains at the beginning... and some rest day exercise can run alongside this plan and will help with those.. strength and flex.. swimming, yoga.. cycling etc.

Many of the exercises for shin strengthening and relief of shin pain do not seem to be the answer whereas strengthening the hips and calves do... there are plenty to choose from:)
