Week 6 Run 1 - I've been a bit naughty!

So yesterday I did my second to last interval run. The plan was to get up early, run round a rugby field while my other half flew his remote controlled airplane. The weather was perfect, and I thought as I knew it was going to be completely flat, I would try and run a bit quicker. Which I did. When it came to the last 5 minutes I was not ready to stop, and because I was doing laps, I said 'one more lap', and then when I got to the end of that lap...one of my favourite songs came on, so I thought I'd run to the end of that song. I felt amazing and was well aware that I should perhaps stick to the app...I just couldn't help myself and got carried away in the moment. I ran/walked for 3.5 miles in total. Gulp....the furthest yet.

Meanwhile, hubby is not having such a great time as he's getting some sort of interference and his little plane won't fly properly. He was bitterly disappointed as he had been looking forward to this for a while, as wind conditions were perfect for him to fly which is a rarity.

So we decided to go to a country park not too far away to have another go at flying. So there I am in my running kit...the sun is still shining, I'm feeling awesome, and I decide to do a nice slow and steady run around the park. You know, like a recovery run! I know, I know I shouldn't have done it....but I did, and another 1.5 miles under my belt. It was a bit harder, and I knew I was running on tired legs, but I JUST LOVE RUNNING! I wanted to do more, but luckily common sense took over and I forced myself to stop.

I want to run everyday and I know I can't, it's so frustrating. Tomorrow early morning is the next one before it gets too hot and before work. I promise I will stick to what Jo tells me to do!

I didn't think I would say that I would ever look forward to running for 25 minutes, but I can't wait till 6-3! Yeeeeee!

I know it’s tempting but rein yourself in for now. When your running legs have had time to build then you can go for it, but for now i’d Do the plan and that’s all. The last thing you need is an injury 🙂👍🏃‍♀️

Wise words, and I have definitely learned a valuable lesson as my next run was on tired legs. Rest day today and looking forward to my 25 minute run tomorrow! 👍
