Just completed 8 R1 and managed to run 5.7 km, is it worth completing the full 9 weeks or go on to the 10k training, is it a lot different? Any comments appreciated.

Well done! I'd say still complete the programme because the objective is not to run 5k just once and say you've done it. The objective is to be able to run for thirty minutes non-stop THREE TIMES PER WEEK. Also, all the advice on here is that once you've achieved that it's best to consolidate (ie continue running for 30 minutes three times per week) for about three weeks before trying to make another step up. Nine weeks of continuous improvement is a lot and it's worth getting that improvement properly established before moving on. Not that I'm any kind of expert (also on week 8 and not doing 5.7k!) but that's what all the knowledgable people on here keep saying.

Thanks for your advice, I agree that consistency is the best way forward.
