Hi Couch to 5k’ers! I’ve been following the forum and all your comments as the weeks have progressed and I thought it was about time I posted. Bit scared about the week 5 runs, any tips to help with the continuous running?

Thanks!

Week 5 rearranges the intervals, but actually decreases the total duration for the last run.

Just bear in mind that there is little difference in the energy expenditure between a brisk walk and a gentle jog.

Go nice and slow and you will be fine.

Have you read the guide to the plan? healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Your body is ready for it even if your mind doesn't think so. You will be fine. The first 10 minutes are the hardest, commonly known as the 'toxic 10' as your body adjusts to the demands of the run / jog. Then after that you sort of ease into the run and it gets a bit easier on the body even though the legs get a bit tired. But go slowly, I mean really slowly (think walking pace) and you'll smash it! Good luck!
