Calf strains

Started running without using couch to 5k. Ended up straining calf.

Waited for it to heal then started couch to 5k. On week 3 calf feels a bit tight. Should I continue?

Welcome to the forum.

If you read the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... there are links to stretches that are advised to be done after each workout.

These should help, but you may need longer between runs until they ease and if they persist, please consult a GP or physio.

Your experience is very common, especially picking up an injury whilst training outside the guidance of reliable training plan but that does not mean that it can not be overcome.

Take care

Hi Jamesbon! There are much more experienced runners on here than me to give you some guidance, but I do think that warm up and cool down stretches have been helpful. I just wanted to say well done. ❤️
