I'm on week 2 as well and I hate that bit. I don't have any advice because for me thinking about breathing sabotages everything I'm trying to do. I just try to blank out what he is saying until he stops going on about breathing!

I also struggled with that at week 2, it was taking all my concentration just to keep putting one foot smoothly in front of the other without having to worry about breathing to a count of 4 as well! So I decided just to ignore what the app was telling me, and my breathing seemed to sort itself out by about week 4. By week 5 I’d also found my comfortable running pace (very, very slow) which got me through the longer runs.

I couldn’t do the breathing thing on week 2 and even though last week I ran my first half marathon I still can’t do “the breathing”. But I do breathe, it just goes in and out of its own accord.

I think if you over think the breathingbit kind of messes the whole thing up. Just make sure you’re going slow and steady and your breathing should sort itself out.
