As I've mentioned before, I tore my MCL last summer. Last week I was having incredible pain so my GP made me take some time off. I was set to finish week 6 on Thursday and start week 7 Saturday. Per doctor's orders and not wanting to tear it again, I took the requested time off and did Wk6 R3 on Wednesday of this week (6 June)... though due to run this morning, back to back appointments followed by a very serious multiple car accident on the motorway meant I landed at home around 6pm, in pain so tomorrow I attack W7 R2.
The glitch part deaux. I'm going to visit my family in California and my dad in Nevada, about two hours north of Las Vegas so unless I run at 4am, I can't run at all due to extreme heat.
Advice? I'm really desperate to get through to graduate so I can run to improve pace and to enjoy it, not to listen to a podcast, though they've been very, very helpful.
Dedicated for sure, just making sure I run without injury.
Thank you!!

Have you considered air conditioned gyms on your travels, just a thought? If not, then perhaps some other strengthening exercises. Swimming would seem to be the obvious choice give your knee issue. Non weight bearing but will build up those muscles for when you get home. Lastly, check out some online/YouTube videos that you can try indoors.
Don't know if any of that helps, but I do wish you all the very best I achieving your goals.
Yes, there's one at the clubhouse where my dad lives but my problems are bigger than that. I arrived to find my dad's Parkinson's in a very severe state, he can't be alone and it's all very difficult. Actually...it's nearly 4am, I might as well go run...before he and my stepmother are up. She leaves to see her mom in a few days, just gotta run when I can because it helps with stress
