Decided to walk it off

I decided to stop running in my last five minutes of today’s run, with 1:27 minutes to go.

My body wasn’t playing along today. The peritoneal nerve damage I have on my left leg decided to kick in again, leaving two toes numb. Plus the shin splints I felt coming up for two days now, on the same leg, also popped by.

I walked it off and have just ordered compression socks.

I do have short ones, but this body is not going to do me in, if I can help it.

They arrive tomorrow, so well in time for my W4R2 of Wednesday.

Fingers crossed 🍀🤞🏻

Oh this is really interesting! I mean I am sorry your having trouble, but I haven’t heard of anyone else getting numb toes. A couple of mine get pins and needles in my left foot after I’ve been running for a little while but I’ve never really know what it was

In my case it’s a known side affect of the peritoneal nerve damage I encountered years ago. It happens firing long walks or lots of standing as well. But when running it causes a slight imbalance too. But not to worry, I don’t think it will occur without said nerve damage.

Oh I see, I’ll pop to my doctor and see what they say. I do wonder whether it could be the same as I’ve always done lots of walking (damn not having a car!) and have worked a fair few bar jobs that require me to be on my feet for sometimes 10/11 hours 😴 thanks for the help!

Mine was caused by an accident, don’t know if they are caused by walking/standing. But I’ve had those issues since the trauma, not before. Good luck and fingers crossed for you! 🍀🤞🏻
