dont want to give up!

im on week six, about to do run one. I have a really tight glute in my left side (developed over the last week) and its causing pain. In my weekly yoga class last night i couldnt do my normal forward bend. any advice?

Have a rest for a day. You could go for a walk though. See how it feels and then do a bit of yoga type gentle stretches if it feels ok

Tight calves etc is par for the course for news runners as our bodies get used to the new exertions. as you keep running slowly and steadily you will get stronger and lose the niggles
