Achy Legs, Heeling Blisters & Happy Heart!

Week 4 run 1 completed. Better than I expected. Three minutes seems quite ok now and five minutes wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. My stamina is improving and my breathing is better but, boy, are my legs feeling it today! This is the first time something other than my lungs or heels (blisters) have hurt, but I’m glad as it means I’m really pushing myself now. I definitely need the rest day but looking forward to seeing how they’ll feel after the Wednesday and Friday runs.

Glad I’ve got my blisters sorted out too. Tying my laces into the special extra holes like in this YouTube video youtu.be/IijQyX_YCKA and ankle socks rather than shoe liners really sorted them as my shoes are now properly tight and my heels are covered.

Music of choice today was Seconds Out by Genesis, another goody for the running playlist I think. Lots of long tracks that merge themselves into each other letting me get lost in them. Jo Whiley got me through too, thanks Jo!

It's amazing how quickly we feel our fitness improve, even little by little it's heading in the right direction! Make sure you stretch after each run as that can make a big difference to aching legs. Well done 🙂

Thanks for the reminder Irishprincess. I must remember to stretch after I’ve jumped up and down celebrating, as I have the last couple of weeks!! 😂😂
