Well done. You're doing great! If it's feeling too much just slow down a bit π
Don't get anxious about what's ahead. The key is just to do one run at a time, even then it's just one foot in front of the other ππ
Thank you jojo π

Try breathing out of your mouth next time, it will definitely help.
Congrats! And don't be afraid - channel that pride into a curiosity that takes you into an adventure!
Thank you
Yes good advise.
Posture and breathing in your natural way.πππ
Shoulders down and tension free along with everything else, head up and chest open.
Do not even think about breathing , just do it.πMouth, nose, bothπ. Kiss it, and the ground with your feet gently.
Keep it simple.πππ
You should be able to have a conversationπ€
Remember your childhood when you just ran.
Get the extra oxygen into your lungs that transfers to your blood and muscles that you need to run.Even head back a little if you can do it comfortably to open up your airways in your neck to begin with.
Give a couple of good blow outs to expel your CO2 without thinking too much about it.π€πππ As and when you feel and wish to.
Use slow and steady as your hand brake.
This time slow and steady with maturity.π€π
You have got thisπππ
I must catch up with your story.
Keep posting.ππ
Thanks for the advice, I can recover quite quickly between runs or at the end but am I trying to hard to regulate my breathing during the run?
Iβm 21st and not at all athletic so Iβm not a natural runner so does that make a difference?

Hi Steve,
Is this your first postπ€
I am interested if your story was here.
You are amazing,I could not do what you are doing at 21stone.π
Great that your recovery is quick.π
No it does not matter and you are not athletic as you call it.
Just run slow and steady.π
Do not know how much you have read on the FAQ Posts, and all the amazing info and communities, here on the NHS One You / HealthUnlocked/ C25k programmeπ€.The FAQ Posts are essential reading.
Recommend you drink plenty of water, every day, hydration and will help with your weight loss.
Do not know your goals, but if weight loss is also, recommend you get a Resting Body Calorie Count. Will let you know your situation better.Maybe the kit is in your gym.π€
Weight loss community here.
I am familiar with , 5:2 diet, biggest loser floor exercises before coming to C25k.
If I can help you on here I will.
Active 10 walking programme great 7 days per week. Strength, stretching and cardio support programmes all on here.
You probably need to be doing around 7 hours per week incl. your 3 runs, building upto double and maybe 3000calorie deficit in a week.
Hope this helps you.πππ
5:2 diet my daughter and her husband did that ... They look like something out of the concentration camps ?
Thankfully they look A ok now sometimes you definitely can take thing too far
Me as soon as diet is mentioned I eat more ?
πFor Some it can give a start.π€ I agreeπ.Powerful medical findings though and of course limiting factors.π€Not for everyone.π€ππππββοΈ

I was very scared of week 4 but I did it - slow and steady ππ½
How did your transition to doubling your run times go. As I have said itβs the breathing thatβs difficult for me π
Iβm surprised how my breathing is improving. I did get wheezy in week 1 and 2 so am taking my inhaler regularly morning and evening. Cold air set my breathing off too so Iβve got a buff for when it gets below about 3/4C. I just slow right down and I can manage to get through. I was convinced I wouldnβt do 5 mins as 3 killed me but itβs not that bad. As they say, trust the programme.
Canβt use a buff, it makes my glasses steam upππ
Did my first run of week 3 yesterday and it killed me. I may have to do week 3 again
Slow down ππ½
Hi Tasha I took your advice on slowing down but now I can walk faster than the actual jogging and I look like a pleb
Hi Steve
Dosent matter what you look like
As you get through the weeks breathing will get better but you got to tell your self to relax I do all the time wiggle fingers so no tension in hands look straight a head and just keep it slow even if u can walk faster.
I always eat and drink before a run
Nothing too heavy depending on time.
If short of time a peanut butter and banana sandwich and water
It Helps my legs from feeling heavy.
Good luck
We're all here to help u through
Be strong in mind and u get there
Jay x
A lot of us *did* walk faster than we could jog/run for the first few weeks. So don't worry, you're in in good company!

"proud how far I have come but also nervous of whatβs ahead" << Yep, that hits the nail on the head for the programme. Those nerves produce some wonderful things though. Just keep your head in the right place and remember slow and finishing (even if you "look like a pleb"!) will put you in better stead than so fast it's a struggle.
I love your title btw and your username. I'm also a fan of calling a stick a stick! Good luck with the journey, you've got this!
The support everyone gives is breathtaking and sometimes emotional, thank you
