I’m on W7 R2 and Ive noticed since starting the longer runs I’ve been suffering with back pain. I do have a prolapsed disc in my lower spine which flares-up now and again so I’ve been wearing a protective belt while running. I’m also taking an extra days rest just in case, and I’ve noticed that on the second day my back always feels a little better so I think there must be a connection.
Will running make the problem worse or (I’m hoping!) better in time as my body becomes stronger? I can cope with a bit of back pain but obviously don’t want to aggravate the problem.
Any tips?....I’ve come this far and don’t want to give up now!

Only a medical specialist can answer that question for sure, even if someone had a similar injury, their experience and physiology would not be yours.
Runners do need good core strength, otherwise they will get back pain as they increase distance. There is plenty of general info on the net on this subject, but I think you need advice tailored to you.
Good luck.
I agree. See a physio, osteopath or chiropractor preferably one who knows about running. I suspect that done right running will help and done wrong it will make things worse. So proper advice is important.
