Yes must be totally crazy on a Sunday morning but did it! Finished over a minute faster than the last time I did this run 2 weeks ago so pleased as punch
Yes I was last at the beginning as I did my 5 min walk but once I got into the 25 min jog I found myself overtaking a few people.....never thought I'd be doing that!
Will be tackling R3 with renewed confidence in a couple of days time.

You'll probably surprise yourself. There are people who just walk the 5k (and are walking their dogs) there is a tail walker who has to come last so no need to worry about that and no one will tell you you'e failed or not done well (only yourself will do that)
It's amazing how much support you get from even the fastest runners. They are often passing me going in the opposite direction back to their cars, but they clap and tell you you're doing well (they are usually half my age so are always going to be faster).
The first one is rather daunting. I started at the back as there is a staggered start according to your expected finishing time. Starting there you're never going to finish first so I never treat it as a race. The only race you run is against yourself....the part of you that says you can't do it. My first run I just aimed to do what I could and saw it as a target setting run...something to aim to improve on.
