Distance does not matter. That will come with time.
Just slowly slowly and get through the run.
I know what you mean though about the stairs. I used to huff and puff at every step as if I was carrying a car upstairs but now if I have left something upstairs I will quickly trot up and get it.
great that you are enjoying it. P
Here's to week 2 !

Even though the program is called Couch to 5k it's aim is to get you running for 30 minutes, this then gives you the tools to move on to complete 5k, if that means speeding up to complete it in 30 minutes (10kph/6mph) or talking slightly longer to get there.
As GingerBohemian says, don't worry about the distance, just go slow and steady and aim to complete the runs.

As far as your legs take you... distance and speed do not matter

It will be different for everyone.
If you actually knew that some people cover way more ground than you, while others cover nowhere near as much as you, would you feel demotivated or smug?
It is unimportant.
Great that you are feeling positive benefits already.
