I have noticed a few comments on here lately referencing Zombie Run's, and wondered what they are like? Is it something you can do in conjunction with C25K? Is it something entirely separate?
If someone could explain it all to me, i would be very grateful.
I think people do Zombie Runs after they have graduated from C25K. You are best to stick just to the C25K programme until you've completed week 9. It's been carefully designed and we know it works, but you should only be running the three runs a week. On your rest days (which are as important as the run days) you can do exercises for strength and flexibility but without the impact. There are Strength and Flex podcasts you can use, or you could workout in the gym or swim, or cycle or... just don't run.
There's an app called "zombies, run!" that I use. I started in week 7 when the longer timed runs begin. I switched out the podcast then after the warm up walk. Worked fine for me
I downloaded the Zombies Run! App when I graduated, it's great fun. I'm not that fast and was only doing 4k in the 30mins so thought it'd take me weeks to get up to 5k but did it first go thanks to the app! Its an audio story that tells you a little more after around each k so keeps me motivated and the runs didn't feel at long as you had something to concentrate on. I think id get confused if there were 2 apps talking to me at once so would probably wait til you graduate!
