For the past 65 years (I am 71) have exercised regularly, going long walks, cycling etc, recently I have also started doing exercises at home such as push-ups, sit-ups, doing exercises with kettle weights and also planks, mainly the full and elbow plank but strangely enough, I have not run since the days of when I was in Primary School, where I used to win quite a few races.
After discovering this site, HealthUnlocked I decided to see how I got on in the running department, I took the advice of week 1 here on HealthUnlocked and was getting on OK, for example, I counted 180 beats during the 1-minute run and about 135 beats during the walking part, but then disaster, the part of my lower leg just above my ankle suddenly got very sore (seized up) so I had to stop the running and sort of limp while walking. This happened yesterday, my leg is getting better now so hopefully, when I start the running again that won't happen, if it does I'll just continue with my present exercises, walks and cycling and continue to do what I have done over the last 65 years.
