Hello! Congratulations on giving up smoking and on using this change as an opportunity to do something to make a positive difference to your life. I am sure you will not regret it.

Have you seen the C25K app/podcasts we use on here? It is a programme that will guide you from beginner to running continuously for 30 mins while building you up gradually to ensure you don't injure yourself, and keeping your motivation up as you see your stamina developing. You can download them from the home page.

Good luck and keep posting!

Well done on your first run ... and very very well done for giving up smoking.

Don't worry about speed or distance, the important thing is to keep running for the required time. Keep it slow and steady and the speed and distance will come in time. The program is all about building stamina and reducing the risk of injury.

So always take your rest day, keep your pace steady and trust in the program and you'll get there.

You can do it ... good luck and happy running! Keep us posted.
