One step at a time. Focus on taking long, deep breaths. Try to enjoy it, especially if you are doing it on a trail, appreciate the fact that you are able to do it! Good luck and happy running.
Remember how you felt at the start of week 1? week 2? week 3?
Yes it is tough but this amazing programme takes you through step by step, building your strength and stamina so you can do each week when you get to it. Have faith in yourself and in the programme
Take one run at a time. Be confident and positive.........you will do this.
Each week is more demanding than the last, but you get stronger each week. Being relaxed is important, so no fear, no worries......they are counterproductive.
You can only fail this plan if you slump back on the couch. If you don't complete a run, repeat it until you can, then move on. Run as slow as you need to.
In a few weeks you will be able to run for thirty minutes non stop and your life will have changed forever.
One foot in front of the other like all the rest have been. I also like to treat myself to a new route when the going gets tougher. New scenery can do wonders for a run.
Trust the programme and your ability to move through it, it is designed to be testing but achievable
Don't be afraid to slow your running down, the post that really helped me spoke of sustainable pace and that was it, I suddenly realised I was trying to hard/running to fast and was struggling to keep it up for the whole of the run
So I slowed it down and suddenly I was not only completing the runs but enjoying it and now have only 1 run to graduate
