Well, people run 5k for under 17 min so that certainly is possible Before you go any further in order to achieve your goal, you should quit smoking, your lungs would rebel if you attempted a 17 min target
We have a basic plan for 5km in 30 min or over here, I think you will need to do Stregnth and core work with speed and Hill training to get from 32min to 17 min. There are many specific speed plans out there on the running websites, also some really useful advice in a lot of the running magazines and books.
Hi, I don't think I have ever heard of anyone reducing a 5k time by quite so much. Your best bet would be to join a running or athletics club and get some expert supervision to avoid doing serious damage. The first thing a trainer would say would be to quit smoking, if you are at all serious.
If you are a new runner it takes quite some time to build strength and stamina to that degree. Not knowing your age or experience, it is difficult to make any judgement.
I would love to be able to fly, but think it is beyond me..........but, never say never!
My word, there's nothing like shooting for the stars. I'm 55, I do the 100 metres in 19.5 seconds, I would love to get it down to 9.5, any tips. 😂
