Running further makes you faster....

β€’10 Replies

So they say.

Ok so last week I was in France in a hilly spot, which challenged me as I have avoided those pointy things to date. So one morning I set off really early when it was coolest and got lost so ended up doing my longest run yet 7k up hill and down dale

Quite comfortable and VERY happy :)

So went out for a 5K on Sunday and managed to run it 3 minutes quicker than I ever have before.

I really do not understand how this works; but I'll take that :)

Well done you! The first time I tried a hilly route I thought I was going to vomit! Actually it was pretty much the last time! I like flat 😜

LOL, back home on a bit of a slope and I just did a REALLY crap run :(

Pride; Fall.....

7k, blimey oh Riley that's nearly 10k. No wonder you ran quicker on the 5k. Clearly those extra clicks under your feet translated to slashing minutes off your time. Weird but wonderful, you should be very proud of that.

Thanks, and if its nearly 10k, well that's almost a marathon!!! My niece just did Ironman (141 miles of running, swimming and biking) in 14 hours. Pfffff

Apparently iron woman is a different, shorter event.....I know, I know....

I am thinking what superhero I would be....Maybe

More miles, more strength......... that's progress, Helen.

Satisfying, isn't it.

Keep running, keep smiling.

Yes, it is satisfying Iannoda. I like the way that I have a plateau for a week or so and then go out and at the end of the distance feel 'hmm I think I can carry on here'! Still really slow though....
