I am aiming to shift 1 stone - 1.5 stone before Xmas. I have already lost 3lb this first week eating sensibly and completing Wk1 of C25K (hasn't been easy as celebrated 20th wedding anniversary this week).
Who has a success story to motivate me please ?

Don't think I've lost any weight as such but the waist on my trousers has gone from 34 to 30 I am involved in my wife's Slimming World programme but I do have a break day once a week when she goes for her weigh in. I certainly feel lighter but don't weigh myself so don't have a reference point. as such.
Im on Slimming World as well as running .. but I wouldnt say i've lost weight from running. But inches or shape is changing. ive just completed app x
Didn't start this for weight loss but over the last 3 months my body has changed shape! About week four I started noticing my legs becoming toned and I too have lost inches around my waist. My clothes fit better 😊
And When I clench my butt angels start singing......
You are unlikely to lose weight simply by doing C25K, but you will become more attuned to your body and develop an exercise habit which is actually more important to your future health outcomes than losing weight.
You will become more toned and if you continue with running so that you can run longer distances, then you will be able to lose weight, simply by running.
I forget how much weight I lost during the programme itself but I went from obese to overweight in BMI terms and lost my 'bustle' combined with monitoring my food intake. It took me a couple of years to lose the full 20kgs to healthy BMI and there I have stayed for more than a couple more. My waist to hip ratio could be better.
Each run doesn't burn many calories in itself, but as IannodaTruffe says you are acquiring a tool to help support weight loss and maintain a healthy weight long term. There may well also be a metabolic impact, at least for some of us
I suspect that for anyone whose overeating is emotionally driven (be that boredom or stress or whatever), the mental health benefits of running may have an additive effect.
I've lost just over 14 pounds in weight. And I have toned up and lost a couple of inches off my waist. The best part though is I can now run 5k. I feel so much more energised.
I didn't really take much notice at first but I was between 60 and 61kg for years before starting C25K.
After a couple of months (just after finishing the programme) I bought a Garmin and started to note my weight, which was 60kg. I have just looked at the graph and see that it went down a little bit over the next four months, then steadily down again over 3 months to 56kg. I seem to have settled at around 55kg which feels very comfortable, although I wasn't actually overweight to start with.
My BP is down to the point that my GP discussed stopping the medication. Also my sugar and cholesterol levels are also down, both of which were just a little high just before I started C25K, but I know that was because our fairly healthy diet had slipped a little bit in the couple of months prior to the health check that was easy to fix almost immediately.
I think it also helps that we have been less stressed since February (and have had several decent holidays which have provided new places to run)
PS, sorry the weights are metric. I am mainly still imperial and only switched to using kilometres and therefore kilogrammes because of C25K
I started in Jan and now finished c25k and 10k as well. I started at 100 kg and now I'm at 88. I do restrict my diet but not too much just binge eating and snacking unhealthy things are gone. I never thought I could be a runner now I never want to be not running.
