Follow the program religiously, take your rest days.

Remember the run sections are a slow jog and we mean sllloooowww

It's about doing the time not about speed or distance, it's building you up gradually to be able to run for 30 minutes.

Is there a specific reason you will be doing it on the treadmill and not outside?

I joined the gym anout 2 months ago.. i dont run outside because i lack motivation there.. i know i wont do it.. where as in the gym everybodys going the same thing, and ive got myself in a routine of when i go to exercise.

Great decision to join us , this forum will definitely help motivate you.

Run slow and slower still. The aim is to complete each run, it is not about speed. Follow the programme as is, take rest days ALWAYS! Remember you are only at the beginning of your journey, building running legs. That means not over running the sessions . If you complete a run, move on to the next. If you have a 'practice' run (we dont use the f word), just take a rest day and try it again. It does not matter if you need to repeat, it is ok to take longer than nine weeks to graduate.

On rest days you can do other exercise but NOT running, core strengthening is great to compliment the runs! Swimming, yoga, walking, cycling.... loads to choose from.

Enjoy!

Do try to get off the treadmill once you have the programme underway, it is far less boring running outside but can also be a little more challenging , so whenever you feel you are ready!

Take it slowly, don't forget to breathe, listen to Laura and keep at it. It isn't easy but the rewards outweigh the challenges, good luck 😎

Good decision, you'll not regret it.

My only suggestion is 'ditch the treadmill'. Go outside, go exploring. You'll see the changing seasons, smell what your neighbours are cooking for tea, hear the birds singing, feel the warmth of the sun on your face, or the cooling rain and taste success. The whole world is out there, saying to you: come here and find me.
