WK5 R3........

I DID IT!! It wasn't easy but I made it all the way through until she stopped talking (normally I've stopped before she's finished the first word!!).

I wore my new trainers (obligatory pic attached) & they were so comfy, no blisters or rubbing! My thighs started to feel heavy by around 17 minutes but I knew there wasnt long to finish the run and just kept plodding along!

I only ran just over 2 miles which surprised me but I suppose that will change as my stamina & strength increase & I get a little faster! The sense if achievement at the end was amazing - I NEVER thought I'd be able to go continuously for that long!

Mixed feelings about W6 after reading a few posts on here but, if Im ready for R1 to be hard I wont be downhearted or put off by it! (There's logic there somewhere!!). Over half way through & loving it more each week!! πŸ˜€πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Well done, that's the big one. And 2 miles in 20 minutes or even 25 minutes is pretty good. Anyway, the main thing is time at the moment, distance comes later😎

Great run! Well done. 2 miles or 3.2k, terrific! For now though just go with the time running, distance and pace will follow!

I just finished wk5 r3 as well! also worried about wk6 r1 after reading some posts but I'm positive that it will go as well as the last runs!

I posted photos of my new shoes but if my mates ever found out they would rib me and say "You big wuss".

Anyway I'll get this out the way first "NICE SHOES" !

They don't half love their shoes here !! I can feel them all swooning at your photo !!

Anyway well done and as others say don't worry about the speed. As your stamina builds you'll find that without trying you will gradually increase speed.

I've nearly been running a year and can do about 6 1/4K in 44 minutes which is hardly any faster then your time. when I drop down to 5K in about 35 minutes I find it easier to perhaps experiment with podcasts and speed. Like you I still get great sense of achievement especially if at start don't feel as good for whatever reason be it weather or just tired. In fact feel even greater sense of achievement in having done any run and overcome the obstacles.

Again well done !

I am sure the ribbing would be even worse if they found out you had got the women's version too, Joe!

Congratulations! As everyone is saying, don't worry about the distance / speed, it'll come with time.
