Yesterday I was woken up to a text message, letting me know that my cousin had just given birth to a baby girl. ππ Over the moon I was, (she's a lot younger than me but we are quite close and it's more of an elder brother and younger sister relationship) and pretty much had my weekend sorted!! πΎπΎ
Then today I get woken up by a text message telling me that my uncle has passed away π’π’. What a difference 24 hours can make!! I really don't know how I got through the day (Like most people, the motions/memories of when we last spoke, saw each other etc. just kept flooding back) after a very very long day I got home and all I could think of was going out for a run for some "fresh air" and clear out my head.
What else can I say other than, tonight it was a very heavy hearted run. No clue as to where I was going, what I was doing, or anything. I just ran!!
No exciting news for you guys tonight I'm afraid, other than no matter what's happening in your life, keep an eye on where you are going. Otherwise you'll end up with a 45 minute walk back home π π π

Oh Saul, so, so sorry. There are no words to make things better. Life is all too short and losing those we love hurts. Losing yourself in your running can be cathartic, so now is the perfect time to take advantage of that ability. Run and remember the good times.
Oh Saul, I'm so sorry about the death of your uncle. It is so hard when people you really care about pass away. My wonderful paternal grandmother died just after my baby was born. I was so sad that she did not get to see her. My daughter is named after her.
I hope the little one is well and your cousin is ok. Was it her father who died?
A new life on earth to replace the one lost. Life is very strange and throws lots of emotions at us. Remember the good times with your uncle and look forward to some wonderful times with your "niece". Things have now shifted a generation and you are now the wonderful "uncle". Hope running puts things into perspective and helps you cope.
Thank you all for your comments and support, means a lot to me. Running does so much that people don't really understand it until they try it, apart from stupid long walks home..hehehe.
Quoting from JaySeeSkinny "A new life on earth to replace the one lost" this is the way I have looked at the situation.
