Watching Serena Williams a few days ago, I thought how flattering her choice of outfit was. Would any ladies consider this to run in? Serena wore it with a pair of short leggings. I'm not large by any means, but find running tops cling to my tum/hip area.

Tennis Dress
On first glance I thought "oh that looks nice and cool on a hot day" but on second glance I'm thinking of all that flapping fabric. Might irritate after a while. I do have a tennis top that I use for running and it's brilliant. A friend of mine runs and plays tennis and she swops her gear around all the time. Not sure she's run in a dress though. I'll ask her.
Very pretty and Serena is a fine example of womanhood! However, I wouldn't want to wear anything provocative as I don't want unwelcomed male attention, prefer to keep myself covered. Could wear it with some running tights underneath I guess
I think it looked great! which covered Serena's backside quite well, and didn't look provocative and would look OK for ladies with leggings, it's not for me though!😂 Neither would I wear the pink Nike tennis shoe's the men wore in the excellent Australian final..😁
What a final! Great tennis from those two gladiators, wish I could cover the court the way they can. So very exciting, really pleased that Federer won, I was rooting for the underdog. I'm surprised at you Dave, not wanting to wear pink Nike tennis shoes! 😂😉 Actually I always thought that you would be a sensible dark blue, black or even white running shoe sort of guy! 😀
I bet you'd wear that outfit floss!😊 When you get back out running.. and yes! I'm just a boring old fart now!😁 I did once back in the 70s wear a pink roll neck jumper though, with my brown leather jacket, I still like a bit of cool fashion, not long ago bought a nice pair of blue suede wingtip brogues, may get slinky out for a dance one day, have something in mind!😁
Maybe buying a new pair of running shoe's soon, as my current ones are getting rather worn & aged possibly giving me some niggles in the legs, so will probably get a dark pair or shall I get a loud pair? (only get dirty won't they) depends on the fit really..😊
I'm with her majesty Irishprincess .. flappage! I cannot bear anything wafting around, which might slow me down..( I go slow enough already :))
Some one... ( cannot remember who.. last year???) put a link to a skirt type shorts garment??? I will try and find the link.. it might fit your bill ? Might have been misswobble or JoolieB1 .. not sure.. I will have a look around!
I think that looks great, but I probably would prefer a running top that doesn't flap about or get in the way of my arm swing!
PS..might have been something like a skort or this??

Oh yes Oldfloss now I do like those running skirts! I have bought a bright pink cycling skort. Looks much more elegant than a pair of cycling shorts (hides the padded "bottom" section nicely!) I think I am going to have to add one of those to my wish list for summer running! x
I like that and think it would look lovely with some lycra shorts. The only thing is that I like my stretchy belt which I wear under my teeshirt. I think it would look pretty weird to be hauling a dress up to get my phone/inhaler/parkrun barcode/whatever out of it! It would spoil the line of the dress to wear the belt on the outside... Tell you what, on second thoughts I'll leave it to you ladyharvills . Post a picture when you get it.

Anna Frost, an ultrarunner, designed her own range with the help of Salomon ... scroll down the page to the videos, and watch her running in her dress 'her favourite piece from the collection'.
Not sure about putting your phone or your food in the back zipped pocket??
Not for me either ... would show too many lumps and bumps! ;-(
I run in a dress in the summer as I don't like to wear just shorts. I have two of these nuu-muu.com/collections/nuu... and I love them ! Nice pocket in the back for phone, not at all 'flappy'
You can get a running tee in that style, just shorter. They are all the rage in warm weather at Parkrun. I quite fancy one
I think they call them trapeze hem
I like that just as a general summer dress! Not a running outfit for me though - I need my legs covered even in summer! Maybe I'll have to get into playing tennis...
